Lent and Holy Week. Throughout Lent, St. Matthew's, as a community, is exploring the questions of what it means to live a holy life and die a holy death, and what it means to view life as a pilgrimage of faith. In the Undercroft Gallery: “Creating Art and Challenging Society’s View of Disability” a display of art work from the Interact Center of Minneapolis, a center for the visual and performing arts for young people with physical and mental disabilities.
Taizé Candlelight Prayer. St. Matthew's offers a beautiful 45-minute candelight service with chants, prayers, and worship stations adapted from the practices of the famed Taizé community in France, www.taize.fr/en. Our Taizé services are held on the first and third Thursdays of each month at 7:30 pm. The next service will be held on Thursday, February 21 at 7:30 p.m. Learn more here.
Intergenerational Compline Sunday Evening Service. The ancient contemplative worship service of prayer, music, thanksgiving and healing isheld every Sunday evening in the Sanctuary Children are welcome and are involved. The service is followed by both silence in the Sanctuary for personal prayer and contemplation, and coffee, cocoa, cookies and conversation in the Undercroft Art Gallery.
