Summer Socials

Summer is a great time for St. Matthew’s because we are outside in our Oak Cathedral for Sunday services. The only real downside is that our social contact is less in the summer than it is when we are inside for Coffee Hour. To cure this and to enjoy the short summer window, we have planned small summer social events.

Several members of the congregation have volunteered to host events, which vary in nature: lunches, potluck dinners, cookouts, afternoon teas, game days, etc. The upcoming events are listed below. To attend an event, please sign up at stmatthewsmn.org/summer-socials. We hope that everyone in our congregation (new and longtime, young and old) is able to attend at least one of them, but you are welcome to sign up for as many as you can!

• Sunday, August 3, 12:00 noon: Potluck lunch and indoor games at church, co-hosted by Terese Lewis, Paul Kiehne, and Amy and Barrett Fisher
• Thursday, August 14, 6:00 pm: Burgers and brats at Bruce and Ann Nerland’s (adult-friendly)
• Sunday, August 24, 12:00 noon: Picnic after church in College Park (Brynn Stember-Albrecht & Angelique Dahlberg, hosts)
