Faithful Hospitality is a new program where we will welcome asylum seekers to sleep in our Parish Hall during the month of July. We are now encouraging people to sign up to volunteer to sleep overnight in the Parish Hall in support of our homeless asylum seekers with children. St. Matthew’s volunteers must be adults with Safe Church training. We are partnering with Interfaith Action who has a full list of volunteer duties here.
Each night, we must have at least one volunteer from St. Matthew’s; the other may be from another neighborhood congregation. If you’d like to volunteer with a partner, you may; we especially encourage pairs of volunteers on July 1 through 3, and July 26 through 31 (although the two volunteers cannot be related to each other, unless there is another volunteer as well). Please sign up online at stmatthewsmn.org/faithful-hospitality. If you have any questions, please contact Lars in the office at office@stmatthewsmn.org.
