The Old Testament in Seven Sentences

Ever find the Old Testament confusing, out of date, or irrelevant for modern Christian life? Wish you could understand the overarching story of the Bible and connect God’s redemption in Jesus back to the people of Israel and the Hebrew Scriptures? Join me in reading and discussing Christopher Wright’s book The Old Testament in Seven Sentences. It is an accessible guide to the story of Scripture and the deep meanings of the Old Testament. This group will help people of all levels, whether you vaguely remember Samson and Jacob from Sunday school, or if you can list all 12 Minor Prophets (anyone?).

At the end of this short survey, you will clearly see and be able to articulate the biblical story of God’s faithfulness and love enacted in the history of Israel as well as how the Old Testament scriptures prepared for the identity and mission of Jesus as Messiah, Savior, and Lord.

We will discuss the book over Zoom for seven weeks, Wednesday evenings at 7:00 pm, from January 13 to February 24. Please email Dave McEachron to sign up or with any questions.

You can buy the book at Amazon, Bookshop.org, or other retailers.
