Lessons and Carols

After the great success bringing it back last year, we will celebrate a service of Lessons and Carols during Advent. The traditional Lessons and Carols service, which stems from 19th-century England, recounts the Biblical story of humanity from the Garden of Eden through the birth of Jesus, using nine short readings interspersed with Christmas carols, hymns, and anthems. Please do spread the word and invite friends and neighbors for the Christmas cheer!

After the service, we will have a reception downstairs in honor of J Michael Compton, our music director for the last 42 years. J Michael is retiring just a few days later, after the Christmas Eve night service. We want to take the opportunity to thank him for all he has done for our community in these decades.
