December Contemplative Service: Advent I and World AIDS Day

Each year on December 1, people worldwide gather to commemorate World AIDS Day: a day to mourn those lost to AIDS-related causes, support those living with HIV, and commit us to the fight for a world without HIV/AIDS. This year, it is also the first day of the church’s liturgical year and the beginning of Advent. For our evening service in December, as we begin the journey of Advent, a season of hope and expectation, we will combine these themes and hope all will remember that our faith calls us to action and to bring light into the world.
