We have a unique opportunity to connect with the wider Minnesota community through Braver Angels this coming Sunday, December 1. We will be meeting our ACT Parish partners at 2:00 pm at Bethlehem Lutheran in St. Cloud and the meeting will be covered by Minnesota Public Radio which is genuinely interested in this process. In addition to covering the meeting they are arranging individual interviews with some of our participants.
The ACT Parish folks are meeting us halfway in St. Cloud. A less demanding drive for both sides is the result. Google maps say it will take 1 hour and 7 minutes to drive from St. Matthew’s to Bethlehem Lutheran in St. Cloud. We will leave St. Matthew’s at 12:30pm on Sunday after the morning service.
Our Check-In Question will be: How did you feel the day after the election? The Meeting Topic Questions involve our larger identity as Christians living within a community, or even several communities. Consider the different communities of which you are a part and actually feel that you are a part of them. Share a time when you really felt like you belonged to this larger group, that you were at home and surrounded by your tribe. These larger identities do not come easily to adults, but they are possible if fostered and built. We will also deal with “How do we reclaim citizenship?” and “What have we learned in the past year of meeting together? What have we heard?”
Whether you wish to either drive or ride, please let us know by replying to stmattsbraverangels@gmail.com and stating your preference. This is a chance to let all of Minnesota know that polarization does not have to win!
