The Undercroft Gallery
St. Matthew's is blessed to have among its members a number of very talented and well-known artists who believe that art is a blessing to be shared and an integral part of St. Matthew's ministries. The church's basement is set up to be the Undercroft Gallery, and the Art Ministry team organizes regular shows there by artists in a variety of media. Among these shows is the annual juried Community Art Show.
You may view the shows before and after Sunday services, and on Tuesday through Friday afternoons. St. Matthew's artists also do special pieces to enhance the worship of the church. For Lent 2007, twelve artists did the Stations of the Cross, now permanently installed in the worship space, and for Advent 2007, a group of St. Matthew's and Jewish artists developed multimedia illustrations of selected Psalms.
